Amanda Harvey, Licensed Professional Counselor

I am so glad you are here! I appreciate therapy as such a rich environment for exploring unconscious beliefs and how they impact one’s state of mind, decision-making, and relationships.  As a therapist, I want to help you slow down to examine the root causes of your presenting issues and deepen understanding of how you operate. I believe unraveling our history and relational dynamics to understand our internal mechanisms can take a lot of time, vulnerability, and work.  Together, we can explore your core beliefs, process major life events, and talk about day-to-day stressors in a safe, encouraging environment.  Taking time for therapy is a commitment and  finding the right fit is important.  If you are reluctant about therapy in general or would like to hear more about how I work, I would love the opportunity to explore what it would be like to work together.

I specialize in:

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy fosters healing and resilience in individuals who have experienced traumatic events. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space for exploring emotions and developing healthy coping strategies. I believe that our body holds our history and that we can renegotiate our agency and relationship to self while acknowledging all that we have been through.

Attachment-Oriented Therapy

Attachment-oriented therapy helps individuals address attachment patterns and develop secure emotional connections with themselves and others. I focus on enhancing personal relationships and promoting emotional well-being. I especially enjoy exploring attachment dynamics with individuals who are adopted or who are adoptive parents.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Through psychodynamic therapy, we delve into unconscious patterns and unresolved conflicts to gain insight into how the past influences the present. Understanding these unconscious ideas takes a lot of honesty with oneself and can lead to better relationships with oneself and others, as well as carve out meaning.
